Dr Des Darrer is married and with his wife Grainne, has two spirited young daughters, Miranda and Mairead. For a number of years now Des has been very involved in the training of GPs and he also holds the position as a “medical educator”. In 2005 he was awarded the inaugural VMA GP Supervisor of the Year award. He graduated from Melbourne University in 1983.
He joined Rowville Health in early 1993 (and is here for good). In his spare time, Des enjoys surfing and bike riding.

Dirk has been at the practice since 1988 and was one of the original doctors at the clinic. Dirk enjoys going to the races and sometimes loses his money. He still barracks fervently for Collingwood. He now does anti wrinkle injections, Botox® and dermal fillers in addition to all other aspects of general practice.

Andrew grew up in Singapore and graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007. He completed his general practice training while working in Gippsland. His interests include dermatology, wound care, minor skin surgery, fracture management, men’s health and medical education. He has attained a certificate in primary care skin cancer surgery from the University of Queensland. He also performs surgery for ingrown toenails. Andrew is married and lives with his wife, 2 young sons and 2 pet rabbits. His hobbies include gardening, swimming, cooking and running.

Dr Natasha Gupta grew up in Melbourne and graduated from Monash University. She has worked at Frankston Hospital, Wonthaggi Hospital and The Mornington Centre before becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Her special interests include skin cancer, women’s health and children’s health. She has completed extra training in skin cancer with a Certificate of Dermoscopy and the Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine. She can offer full body skin checks and procedures in the clinic. Outside of medicine she loves to travel, dance and spend time outdoors.

Elisha grew up in Tasmania and graduated from Monash University in 2009. She then worked in various Victorian hospitals before entering GP training. Elisha is particularly interested in women’s health,antenatal care,family planning,sexual health and paediatrics, but also enjoys all aspects of general practice and loves the challenge of optimising the general health of patients. Elisha enjoys sport, music, travel, barracking for Essendon, tending to the veggie garden and keeping up with her young children and energetic Labradors. She is forever striving to find time for camping, reading, gardening, exploring new places and achieving a good work/life balance. She has aspirations of learning the accordion and growing an abundance of fruit trees.
Dr Suyama Jayawardena

Suyama enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in paediatrics, mental health and women’s health. Suyama has two sons and her leisure time is mostly spent with them. She also enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, and playing badminton.

Dr Shruti is one of our current GP registrars and newest additions to our friendly team. She obtained her medical degree from Melbourne University in 2018. She worked for three years as a hospital doctor gaining valuable experience in many areas including emergency medicine and women’s health before moving into general practice. She enjoys all facets of general practice but has a particular passion for children’s health, having spent part of her training at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. Dr Purani obtained her medical degree (MBBS Honours) from Monash University in 2018.
