Early detection is key.
- Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world; we are close to the equator and have many clear, blue-sky days that increase our exposure to UV radiation.
- More than two thirds of Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime.
- When the forecast UV Index is 3 or over, sun protection is required
- Sun exposure doesn’t just increase cancer risk — it also contributes significantly to premature skin ageing, with up to 80% of visible ageing caused by UV exposure.
Our GPs provide comprehensive skin cancer checks, diagnosis, and treatment in a caring and professional setting. We offer full skin examinations to assess moles, freckles, and any changing or concerning skin lesions, with dermoscopy used to improve diagnostic accuracy.
If required, we can perform skin biopsies and minor surgical procedures for removal and further testing. We also provide ongoing skin cancer surveillance, along with practical sun protection and prevention advice to help you protect your skin year-round.
