- More than 300,000 Australians develop diabetes everyday.
- Almost 1.9 million Australians have diabetes, which includes up to 500,000 with silent or undiagnosed diabetes.
- Diabetes occurs when the pancreas is not producing enough insulin or when the insulin is not working effectively.
- Type 2 diabetes occurs in middle age and often has little or no symptoms initially.
At Rowville Health, we offer comprehensive diabetes care, including support from our qualified Diabetes Educator, who provides personalised advice on prevention, monitoring and day-to-day management. Speak with your regular GP about creating a Chronic Condition Management Plan. This plan provides a structured, personalized approach to managing your condition and gives you access to additional Medicare-funded services including:
- Up to five rebated Allied Health visits per calendar year with the providers of your choice.
- Up to eight group exercise classes delivered by an accredited Exercise Physiologist.
These services can be conveniently organised on-site, with the classes held in our modern, fully equipped upstairs gym run by the amazing team at Performance Plus.
