Dr Des Darrer
Doctor
Dr Des Darrer is married and with his wife Grainne, has two spirited young daughters, Miranda and Mairead. For a number of years now Des has been very involved in the training of GPs and he also holds the position as a “medical educator”. In 2005 he was awarded the inaugural VMA GP Supervisor of the Year award. He graduated from Melbourne University in 1983.
He joined Rowville Health in early 1993 (and is here for good). In his spare time, Des enjoys surfing and bike riding.
Dr Darrer is in the clinic on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Des does not bulkbill pensioners or HCC holders.

Dr Dirk Ebert
Doctor
Dirk has been at the practice since 1988 and was one of the original doctors at the clinic. Dirk enjoys going to the races and sometimes loses his money. He still barracks fervently for Collingwood. He now does anti wrinkle injections, Botox® and dermal fillers in addition to all other aspects of general practice.
Dr Ebert is in the clinic Monday-Thursday & every second Sunday morning. Dirk has bulk billing appointments available for aged pensioners on weekdays, so please call the clinic to book if bulkbilling is required.

Dr Andrew Gan
Doctor
Andrew grew up in Singapore and graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007. He completed his general practice training while working in Gippsland. His interests include prolotherapy, dermatology, wound care, minor skin surgery, fracture management, men’s health and medical education. He has attained a certificate in primary care skin cancer surgery from the University of Queensland. He also performs surgery for ingrown toenails. Andrew is married and lives with his wife, 2 young sons and 2 pet rabbits. His hobbies include gardening, swimming, cooking and running.
Dr Gan is in the clinic Tuesday-Friday and some weekends. Andrew does not bulkbill pensioners or HCC holders, or children (U16) with respiratory issues.

Dr Elisha Harris
Doctor
Elisha grew up in Tasmania and graduated from Monash University in 2009. She then worked in various Victorian hospitals before entering GP training. Elisha is particularly interested in women’s health, antenatal care, family planning,sexual health and paediatrics, but also enjoys all aspects of general practice and loves the challenge of optimising the general health of patients. Elisha enjoys sport, music, travel, barracking for Essendon, tending to the veggie garden and keeping up with her young children and energetic Labradors. She is forever striving to find time for camping, reading, gardening, exploring new places and achieving a good work/life balance. She has aspirations of learning the accordion and growing an abundance of fruit trees.

Dr Suyama Jayawardena
Doctor
Suyama enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in paediatrics, mental health and women’s health. Suyama has two sons and her leisure time is mostly spent with them. She also enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, and playing badminton.

Dr Caroline Macindoe
Doctor
Caroline graduated from Monash University in 2012 and spent several years working at Austin, Northern and Monash Health, before starting GP training. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a particular interest in women’s health, sexual health, mental health and preventative medicine. Caroline does IUD insertion procedures at the clinic. In her spare time, Caroline likes spending time with her family and friends, travelling and gardening.
Dr Macindoe is in the clinic on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and some weekends. Caroline has bulk billing appointments available for pensioners and HCC holders on weekdays between 12-3.

Dr Dick Merigan
Doctor
Dick joined Rowville Health in 1988. Dick is interested in all aspects of General Practice, especially Children’s Health, Sexual Health, Aged Care, Sports Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery. Dick has 3 children and his outside interests include golf, Richmond,importing goods from China, the Tigers, cricket, Richmond, Victorian architecture, and Richmond.
Dr Merigan is in the clinic Monday to Thursday, and most Sundays. Dick will bulk bill appointments for pensioners or HCC holders between 8am-9am Tuesday and Thursday, and 3pm-5pm Mondays and Wednesdays.

Dr Wafa Michaels
Doctor
Wafa was born in Egypt and arrived with her family to Australia in 1988. Wafa is married and has two daughters. She enjoys travelling and meeting new people. Her post graduate qualification is fellowship of G.P. in Australia and Diploma of eye disease from Egypt. Wafa has also undertaken a lot of post graduate courses about menopause and osteoporosis. Dr Adel Nashed
Doctor
A general physician, and a fellow of the RACGP, also one of the four principals of Rowville Health. Graduated from Alexandria Medical School – Egypt in 1982, and migrated to Australia in 1985. Adel has been practicing general medicine since 1990 and has a special interests in paediatrics, dermatology and prevention medicine. His interests include soccer, travelling and reading.

Sylvia was born in Malaysia and grew up in Melbourne. She attended Monash University and had worked in various hospitals before working in general practice. Dr Monika Patel
Doctor
Dr Monika Patel has interests in all aspects of General Practice and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Patel also has a certificate in Cosmetic Dermal Medicine from the Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science. She has additional training in non-surgical rejuvenation of the face with Botox, Dermal fillers, Microhydrabrasion, chemical peels and skin needling.

Samudra came to Australia from Sri Lanka in 1994 on an Australian Government Academic Scholarship to study medicine. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1999. After working in several metropolitan and rural hospitals in New South Wales and Victoria, Samudra entered general practice in 2007. In 2009, she obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Samudra joined Rowville Health in 2010. Simone originally completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from The University of Melbourne, before deciding on a career in Medicine. She graduated from Deakin University in 2012 and trained through The Royal Melbourne Hospital before entering GP training in 2016.Simone is interested in all aspects of general practice, particularly sports medicine, chronic disease management and preventative health. Lisa started working here in 1992. Lisa sees patients with a wide range of general problems but has particular interest in: paediatrics, skin cancer and womens health. Lisa is passionate about supporting women from puberty through to pregnancy to menopause and beyond. Lisa also does diving medicals.

Dr Cheten Mistry

Dr Cheten Mistry grew up in Sydney where he graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (Advanced), followed by a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at The University of Notre Dame. He obtained a wide variety of clinical experience at one of Sydney’s major metropolitan hospitals, St George Hospital, prior to relocating to Melbourne for General Practice. He received the Victorian GP Registrar of the year award during his training. Cheten is passionate about providing holistic, patient centred care. He has a special interest in managing cardiovascular medicine, weight loss, diabetes and men’s health. Cheten also works part time in medical education, teaching registrars on the GP training program.

In his free time, Cheten enjoys exercising, playing golf, travelling and spending time with his wife and two kids.

Dr Zhonghua (Cassie) Zhou
Doctor
Cassie grew up in China and graduated from China Medical University in Shenyang in 1994. She started her medical career as an obstetrician/gynaecologist but switched career paths to primary care and completed general practice training at Light Family Medicine Residency, also in Shenyang, China, in 2010.

Cassie went on to establish one of the first general practice training programs in China and was actively involved in developing general practice as a new specialty in her country. One of the focuses of her program was outreach to those who are disadvantaged.

Cassie is happily married to Joseph, and they have two grown children, Joshua and Joy. Cassie has enjoyed working as a rural GP in South Gippsland since April 2017. She enjoys all aspects of medicine and has special interest in mental health, women’s health, and geriatrics.

Outside of medicine, Cassie enjoys family time, cooking, running, and going to church. Cassie attends clinic on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
